Born in 1981, Thomas Wirtz lives and works in Düsseldorf as a freelance designer. During and after his studies for Communication Design, Master of Arts, he worked as Art Director in several agencies. His master thesis, completed in 2016 under supervision of prof Philipp Teufel and prof Gabi Schillig at the University of Applied Sciences in Düsseldorf, received various international awards and represents the methodical basis of his university lectureship.

He applies his experimental approach of combining typography and physical phenomena in disciplines like Corporate, Editorial, Exhibition or Motion Design to make information, messages and brands more approachable and perceptible for the viewer.
